IfM ShoeString Hackathon

Following the previous successful Shoestring Hackathons, CUES is pleased to announce that we are collaborating with the IfM to host a Hackathon as part of the Digital Manufacturing on a ShoeString Project.

The hackathon will focus on developing low cost solutions and prototypes in Monitoring, Cost-modelling and analysing Product/Customer demands. More details about the challenges will be published on the Hackathon Website closer to the time.

The hackathon challenges students to design creative solutions for real-world digital problems which manufacturing SMEs face by using low cost off-the-shelf and open source technologies. You have the choice of using a wide range of technologies to support your solution, from sensors in conjunction with microprocessors and low-cost computers such as Arduinos and Raspberry Pi to programming mobile apps.

This experience will allow you to gain a better understanding of  the challenges faced by businesses in the manufacturing industry while developing your creativity and problem-solving skills.

Everyone is welcome to join regardless of past experience. All we need is for you to bring your enthusiasm and out of the box ideas. This event is also open to students from the University of Nottingham.
